Outdoor Adventures

May 2015 - Present

I was exposed to a wealth of sports and outdoors activities from a young age. My parents got me involved in team sports like soccer and baseball. We spent most summer vacations at Acadia National Park outside of Bar Harbor, Maine where we went camping, biking, and hiking. My first vehicle was a Jeep Wrangler which got me into off roading. All of this provided a strong foundation for where I am today. Something changed when I graduated from college in May 2015 and moved out to California. I slowly became more serious about the outdoors. The occasional casual outing was becoming a more consistent and meaningful lifestyle. Non technical activities like hiking were becoming technical as I transitioned into scrambles and climbing. I starting exploring new sports like mountain biking and backcountry skiing. At this point, I would estimate 75% of my weekends involve some form of outdoor activity. Of that, I would consider maybe 10% to be "above average" in the form of physical exertion, bodily risk, or just uniqueness. While I have done countless outings at this point, this page is devoted to the best of the best. That does not mean they were all dandelions and roses in the end. Some ended in failure, with lessons learned the hard way. This is an important and very real part of the process.
